About Us

The Magnetic Connection Company Ltd. was formed in 2006 to develop and produce the easy to change magnetic light fitting.

The inspiration for the idea came to product designer Anthony Clough whilst studying for an  MA in Industrial Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art. 

What a simple idea!

Initially designed with those having mobility or dexterity problems in mind, it became clear that this was a product that would make everyone's life not only easier but safer - and also save businesses money.

To take the concept forward commercially, Anthony has teamed up with Technical Director Craig Rochford and secured first round funding with Gresham House, an Authorised Investment Trust.

Since then the product has been developed and manufacturing tooling has been produced. Now it is in the final stages of testing the magnetic light fitting will be available soon.

A patent application was filed in August 2005 to protect the novel elements of the design. This is now published internationally and further applications have been filed to protect developments.
